Shiras Moose Hunting

As for Right Now We are Awaiting approval From The Colville National Forest for the proper permits to allow us to guide on the National Forest Land. If you are interested in a unguided hunt please send me an email message with your contact information to info@pendoreilleadventures.com and we will return your call as soon as we can. We can offer information about how and where to kill a Trophy Bull but we can not take you on the hunts ourselves at this time with out the permits. We can only offer Unguided moose hunts at this time.

Here a little Information for you to read.

With minimally Hunting Pressure and a low number of permits give per unit when hunters start to look for a nice bull they end up with a lot of ground shrinkage. It is very hard to find a trophy class Shiras Moose in this terrain. According to Washington Fish and Wildlife The antler spread of 207 harvested bulls ranged between 35 and 41 inches from 1992 through 2002. The average antler spread for these years is 37 inches with the widest spread reported to be 58 inches. Most people who draw a coveted Washington State moose tag have no idea how to judge a moose. Moose Are very large animals and from what you have read from fish and wildlife most people kill bulls that are around 37 inches.if you want a full report on washington state moose hunting go to http://wdfw.wa.gov/wlm/game/hunter/gametrails/2004/moose_status.htm

With any animal you hunt  you usually have a question or two.

What does a bull moose sound like?

What do they like to eat?

How will I know where to find them?

Is this one a shooter?

Well no worries!

We have the Knowledge your seeking!

Pend Oreille Adventures has
The experience that your looking for.

Booking Requirements

Business issues for Clients – Contract Information: This statement and price list is my binding contract. Since I am a hunter and stay in the woods most of the year, I get this information to you up front to save both parties time and energy and money. Prices reflect the money owed our business. We have to collect the taxes for the state and federal government. Also the tag and license fees are extra through the WDF&G. All other hunts are the advertised length of the hunt. We will explain the hunt to you before you book, we will all know if it is the hunt you want.

Deposits – Booking

Because we are in the mountains most of the year, we usually get backed up on the paperwork. This is a weak part of our business, so you know right up front. That is why I try to get it done before the season starts. I am proud of the fact that my clients know I am a man of my word and will say it like it is up front. I will tell you the specifics of your trip and what I expect and we expect you to do likewise. This way we will have a great time. This is a business and we have a lot of responsibilities to take on before you arrive. We have a fair payment plan set up to help this out. If you want to book a hunt over the phone, we will hold it for seven days so the mail can get the deposit check to us. We will not hold a spot for you without a deposit! We will not take personal checks within 30 days of your hunts. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Also we require all hunts to be paid up 30 days before the start of the hunt, mainly, so I don’t have to do books on the mountain just days before a hunt. These deposits are non-refundable and are to hold you the spot you booked. If you fail to pay any payments, the spot and deposits are forfeited. Deposits can be changed to another open hunt in that year. Since we book only a few number of hunters, we cannot take this loss unless we raise every hunters fee to make up for this part of the business. Therefore, I have these rules to protect the other clients.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anybody we feel jeopardizes the trips and health of our guest, help or animals. We also reserve the right to cancel trips due to unsafe conditions, weather, etc.

What to Expect on Our Trips

We have no control over the weather, fires, season closures or date changes, breakdowns or sickness. We are proud of the fact that we have never canceled a hunt that somebody planned. Your abilities as a hunter, as well as your shooting ability will be as important as your guide’s abilities in the field. Your physical and mental condition will dictate the enjoyment and success of the trip. There can be very rough, wild and remote areas on most hunts, which warrants added attention. This is what makes these hunts “hunting experiences” and not game shoots. Therefore, there are no guarantees! We can only promise to try to give the best trip to our clients as is humanly possible, without pricing the hunts our of reach for the hunter. We will be honest with your chances and the amount of game harvested or seen the previous years and ask you to talk to our references to check us out before you book a hunt. Make sure what we say is true and you have confidence in our abilities to give you a good hunt. Remember, bull elk and trophy whitetail's are the hardest animals to hunt in North America.

These prices include all of our costs. I do not charge for pickup in town to our camp and taking the game to the processor. This is a convenience for us, since we are in town to get groceries, anyway. Processing of your game is extra, most of our hunters prefer to leave their deer meat here since they usually harvest deer at home also. We collect a $150.00 fee for processing and have you write a proxy slip and then the processor will find a needy family for your deer. Like all service businesses, tipping is appreciated to the support staff that is making your trip memorable. I have tried to answer most of the questions that we are asked every year.

Big game hunting and handling guests is a way of life for us. I have been guiding hunters for 8 years . We are here because of the love of the woods, excitement and competition of getting guests in sight of game, and the feeling at the end of the season that we helped you enjoy a little bit of Washington! Hope to see you this year!
